Sacred Heart Oratory Tower
2013 "Preservation Achievement Award

The Sacred Heart Oratory Tower project in Wilmington, DE was one of the dramatic projects among the diverse winners of the 2013 Preservation Achievement Awards, recognized annually by the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia.

The Alliance will present its Grand Jury Awards to an impressive 16 regional restoration and revitalization projects at the 20th annual Preservation Achievement Awards luncheon on May 15, 2013 at the Crystal Tea Room in the historic Wanamaker Building.

“Award winners this year represent the broad spectrum of building types, structures, and architectural periods that have been preserved, restored or adaptively reused in our region, and the various ways that historic preservation is defined," said Preservation Alliance Interim Executive Director Suzanna Barucco. "From mapping a historic landscape to preserving established institutions, to adaptively reusing a 20th century landmark, these projects enhance the quality of life in our communities, and demonstrate the important role that historic preservation plays in the economy of the Philadelphia region.”

The Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia actively promotes the appreciation, protection and revitalization of the Philadelphia region’s historic buildings, communities and landscapes. A 501c3 non-profit membership organization, the Alliance leads in setting the agenda for preservation issues of regional importance and advocates strong public preservation policies.
