CH&E Lifts Massive Steel Roof Assembly for Wilmington Church
Wilmington, DE

Beginning in January 2012, The Sacred Heart Oratory in Wilmington, Delaware underwent a series of significant renovations with CH&E serving as General Contractor. One of the most exciting elements of this project was the massive scaffolding that was erected around the church tower. All together, the scaffolding reached an impressive 183' tall and featured a significant amount of safety netting to protect the contractors working at great heights as well as the church-goers below.

CH&E was also tasked with lifting a 6,000 pound steel roof assembly to the top of the masonry bell tower. The structure was designed by Peifer Welding in Ronks, PA, assembled on the construction site, and then lifted 180 feet into the air to sit atop the tower.
