Construction Management

If you are uncomfortable with the traditional general contracting approach, another alternative is to hire a construction manager to handle the process. When contracting with CH&E through this method, we are responsible for managing the design process, securing bids and subcontracting the various construction phases, complying with building codes and government regulations, scheduling crews and materials, and acting as a liaison between the project and the owner. There are two levels of construction management. As an Agency Construction Manager, CH&E would be hired on a negotiated fee basis to manage the project on our client's behalf. In some instances the Construction Manager may also serve as the General Contractor - this is referred to as a "Construction Manager at Risk". At this level CH&E will self-perform some of the construction work.
Construction management is an additional service that can often represent a savings of as much or more than it costs.
